We here at Wayside Animal Hospital are taking COVID-19; including the new Delta Variant, very seriously. We understand that we are the health care providers for your beloved pets, and we need to keep our doors open during this difficult time. We take this responsibility very seriously. We have already witnessed two veterinary hospitals in our area closed today due to COVID-19. Because of this, we wanted to share with all of you some of the things we are doing to keep ourselves and our clients protected during this most recent uprising in the number of cases.
You will notice our staff wearing masks and maintaining a 6-foot social distance to the best of their ability. We are asking you to help us serve you by also wearing a mask in the clinic at all times. We are disinfecting and wiping down areas that are commonly touched and our staff is instituting a wash in and wash out policy between each appointment. This will also include the front desk; we are doing everything we can to limit contact between our staff and clients.
If you prefer not to or are unable to wear a mask, we ask that you allow us to serve you curbside. If curbside better suits your needs, we ask that you remain in your vehicle and give us a call to let us know that you have arrived. We will have a veterinary assistant come out to the car to speak with you, obtain your pet’s medical history, and bring your pet into the clinic. We ask that you remain in your car in the parking lot while we perform the necessary treatments for your pet. When your pet’s procedures have been completed, the veterinarian can call you from the clinic or come out to your car to discuss their findings. The front desk can then contact you for payment to complete your transaction.
We are also requesting that any client suffering from upper respiratory symptoms not enter our office, we can always arrange a drop off and we can collect the history via the phone. Unfortunately, we will also be requesting that there be no shaking of hands when we greet each other.
We hope this gives you some degree of comfort knowing that we are doing everything in our power to remain open in order to serve our clients and our pets during this challenging time.
