Lexie joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2021 and began her journey as a kennel technician. Through her hard work, dedication, and a strong passion for animal care, she worked her way up to a Veterinary Assistant. She has also recently trained in reception, making her a versatile team member who can seamlessly support multiple areas of the clinic. Lexie has experience with both small and large animals. As a veterinary assistant, Lexie assists with patient care, treatments, and daily medical tasks. In her spare time, Lexie enjoys shopping, off-roading, and spending time with friends. She is currently attending cosmetology school while continuing her work in veterinary medicine. At home, she cares for her two beloved dogs: Maverick, a German Shepherd, and Moto, an English Bulldog/French Bulldog mix.
Davina Kirk
Veterinary Assistant
Davina joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her career in veterinary medicine that began in 1999. Over the years, she has grown into a highly skilled and knowledgeable veterinary assistant through her dedication to continuing education and her willingness to learn and adapt. Davina also enjoys training others and sharing her experience to help the team grow. As a veterinary assistant, Davina supports patient care, assists in treatments, and brings calm, confidence, and compassion to every case. She truly loves animals of all kinds, big or small, furry and scaly, making her a versatile and dependable member of the medical team. In her spare time, Davina enjoys hiking, fishing, reading, and crafting. She has been married for 25 years and is the proud mother of three. At home, she cares for a lively animal family that includes her dog, Princess, and four cats: Sparkles, Toby, Little Bit, and Clover.
Gracelyn McIsaac
Veterinary Assistant
Gracelyn joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2025, bringing with her a lifelong love for animals. Growing up on a farm, she always knew she had a passion for caring for animals, and her work at Wayside Animal Hospital has reaffirmed that calling. As a veterinary assistant, Grace supports patient care, assists the medical team, and brings a calm, capable presence to every appointment. Her hands-on experience with animals throughout her life has made her a confident and compassionate caregiver. In her free time, Grace enjoys fishing, car photography, camping, reading, playing tennis, skateboarding, listening to music, and attending car meets. She loves working on cars. She shares her home with her Rottweiler, Butch, two cats, Beans and Tofu, along with her horse Joy, her mini donkey Brady, her goat Sassy, and her chickens.
Brooke Norton
Receptionist
Brooke joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2002. Before joining the hospital, she volunteered at local shelters. She often says this is the only job where she truly enjoys getting up and coming to work; every day brings something new, exciting, and meaningful. As a receptionist, Brooke is one of the first friendly faces clients meet when they walk through the door. She helps keep the front desk running smoothly, supports clients with compassion, and always strives to make each visit a positive experience for both pets and their families. In her free time, Brooke loves spending time with her two grandchildren, antique shopping, traveling, watching documentaries, and cheering on her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. At home, she is surrounded by her five beloved dogs: Layla, Sophie, Max, Jax, and Ellie Mae.
Torrie Beasley
Hospital Manager
Torrie has been an essential part of Wayside Animal Hospital since 1995. She began her career as a receptionist, later became a veterinary assistant, and through dedication and leadership grew into her current role as Hospital Manager at our Foothills location. With decades of experience, Torrie brings deep knowledge of the ever-changing veterinary field and a strong commitment to both clients and their pets. As Hospital Manager, Torrie oversees daily operations, supports the medical team, and ensures every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care. She is passionate about being “a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves” and has loved getting to know generations of clients and their pets throughout the years. When she is not at the hospital, Torrie enjoys spending time with her family, going out to eat, relaxing at the beach, and watching reality TV. She and her husband, Benny (married since 1994), have three sons and share their home with Leia, a stubborn but adorable Chow mix.
Addison Lewis
Veterinary Assistant
Addison officially joined Wayside as a veterinary assistant in 2022, though she has grown up in the practice alongside her father, Dr. Lewis. Inspired by her upbringing, she hopes to pursue a career as a veterinarian. She is currently a student at Berry College pursuing an Animal Science degree on the Pre-Vet track. Her favorite breed is the Warmblood horse, admired for their personality and effort in performance. Addison is an accomplished equestrian who has been competing since the age of five, with numerous ribbons to her name. Her family includes her parents, Dr. Lyn and Kristen Lewis, her brother Patrick, her horse Quinn, and a golden doodle named Chubb.

Autumn joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2025 and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2020. She began her career as a kennel technician and has grown steadily in the veterinary field, now serving as a part of our large animal team. Her willingness to learn and her dedication to patient care make her a strong and reliable part of our staff. As a veterinary assistant, Autumn supports both routine and large animal care with confidence and compassion. In her free time, Autumn enjoys settling in with a good book and going on motorcycle rides with her husband. She shares her home with her two beloved dogs, Han, a boxer mix, and Patches, a pitbull.

Keifer joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024 and began his journey in veterinary medicine through his school’s FFA program. His interest in animal care quickly grew into a passion, and he has been an enthusiastic and hardworking part of our team ever since. As a veterinary assistant, Keifer enjoys the hands-on aspect of patient care and supporting our medical team. In his free time, Keifer enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, or riding dirt bikes. He also enjoys caring for his three dogs: Daisy. Dixie and Daphne.

Morgan joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024 and has been working in the veterinary field since 2018. She earned her veterinary assistant certificate in 2021 and has been dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care ever since. Her strong clinical skills and calm, caring nature make her a valuable part of our medical team. As a veterinary assistant, Morgan enjoys helping patients feel safe and comfortable while supporting the medical team through every step of their care. She is passionate about learning, growing, and ensuring every pet receives the attention they deserve. In her spare time, Morgan enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys hiking with her dog, Elmer, a chihuahua/toy fox terrier mix, as well as reading, knitting, hunting, and fishing. Her home also includes two cats, Butter Bean and Ivy, who complete her home.

Nicole joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2022 and brings a wide range of experience from her veterinary career, which began in 2005. Over the years, she has worked in multiple roles, including veterinary assistant, groomer, and certified animal control officer. She initially started at Wayside as a receptionist and later advanced into her current role as Large Animal Coordinator, where she continues to expand her knowledge across different areas of veterinary medicine. As Large Animal Coordinator, Nicole helps ensure our large animal services run smoothly. Her strong background, adaptability, and calm, confident approach make her an essential part of the large animal team. She enjoys the challenge of learning something new every day and supporting clients and their animals, both big and small. In her free time, Nicole enjoys relaxing with her dog scruffy, a wire-haired terrier she rescued during her time in animal control. She enjoys watching movies, listening to all genres of music, and shooting for fun. A fun fact about Nicole: during her grooming years, she once groomed a dog for a Backstreet Boy.

Emily joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024, bringing with her a lifelong love for animals. Since she was young, she has always wanted to help pets in any way she could, and working in veterinary medicine has been a perfect fit for her caring nature and warm personality. As a receptionist, Emily is one of the first friendly faces clients meet. She enjoys supporting pet owners, helping visits run smoothly, and being part of a team that makes a real difference in the lives of animals every day. In her spare time, Emily loves reading, staying home with her husband and pets, and attending the Georgia Renaissance Festival. She is also surprisingly skilled at claw machines.

Mishawna joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024, bringing 11 years of experience in the veterinary field. Throughout her career, she has worked in multiple roles, including receptionist, kennel technician, customer service manager, and care coordinator. She started at Wayside as a receptionist and has been cross-training as a veterinary assistant, continuing to build on her passion for helping pets and their families. Michaela joined Wayside Animal Hospital in2024, bringing six years of customer service experience to her first role in the veterinary field. With her friendly personality and genuine love for animals, she quickly became a warm and dependable presence at our front desk. As a receptionist, Michaela enjoys welcoming clients, supporting pet owners, and helping each visit run smoothly. In her free time, Michaela enjoys reading, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time by the water. She also loves being with her family and friends. Her home is shared with her three pets: Poppy, a chiweenie; Asher, an aussiedoodle; and Garfield, her lovable orange tabby
Dr. Thomas “Lyn” Lewis, Jr.
Veterinarian Owner
Dr. Lewis is from Beaufort, South Carolina, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Limestone College before graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Soon after, he began his career at Appalachian Animal Hospital in Ellijay, GA, eventually purchasing Wayside Animal Hospital in 2009.
He has worked extensively with dogs and cats as well as gorillas, kangaroos, raptors, cougars, and black bears. His interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and physical therapy/rehabilitation. Dr. Lewis has authored over 100 veterinary articles for local newspapers, founded the Mountain Emergency Animal Center, and is active in community education and mentorship programs.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife, Kristen, and their children, Addison and Patrick.
Courtney Webb
Hospital Manager
Courtney joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2023 and quickly became an essential part of the team. She began her veterinary career in 2017 as a receptionist, transitioned to a veterinary assistant a year later, and stepped into her current role as a hospital manager in 2024 at our Ellijay location. Her favorite part about veterinary medicine is that she learns something new every day and loves connecting with both pets and their owners. As a hospital manager, Courtney is dedicated to ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while supporting both clients and staff. Her leadership is rooted in compassion, teamwork, and a genuine love for the community she serves. She is an Ellijay local! She grew up in this town and is proud to call North GA home. Family is incredibly important to her, and she feels blessed to work for someone whose values align with her own. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring new places, and baking sweet treats with her son. During the summer, you’ll find her by the pool or at the beach, and in the fall she’s cheering on the Tennessee Vols with her family!
Dr. Madison Boone
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Boone is from Alexander City, AL, and completed her bachelor’s and master’s at Auburn University before graduating from Ross University in 2024. She is excited to practice both small and large animal medicine at Wayside.
She lives in Ellijay with her beagle, Mae, and her cat, Jimmy. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
Dr. Johanna Schneider
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Johanna Schneider earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega before completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She finished her clinical training at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is excited to be joining the Wayside Animal Hospital team.
Dr.Schneider enjoys working with both large and small animals, with a special passion for equine medicine. Having grown up riding horses. Her love for large animals started early and continued to grow throughout veterinary school, where she also gained extensive experience working with donkeys.
Outside of the clinic, Dr.Schneider enjoys spending time with her fiance and pets, two dogs and one cat. In her free time, she loves reading and exploring new places, especially trying new restaurants.
Dr. Samantha Mosley
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Samantha Mosley is a born and raised Ellijay local whose lifelong dream was to return home to serve her family and community. She graduated from Berry College with a degree in pre-veterinary animal science, then went on to complete her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mosley’s specific passions lie in large animal farm calls, urgent care/emergency medicine, pocket pets, and backyard poultry. At home, Dr. Mosley enjoys her own zoo, with animals of all sizes ranging from her horse Thunder to a leopard gecko named Bill. She loves spending time with her family, gardening, any outdoor activities, and going thrifting/antique shopping in her free time.
Dr. Matt Martellini
Associate Veterinarian
Dr.Martellini grew up in McKinney, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Tarleton State University and went on to complete his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in 2023. He then went on to practice small animal medicine in Naples, Florida prior to relocating to Ellijay to join the Wayside team.
Some of Dr.Martellini’s special interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and client education. He is committed to providing thorough, individualized care that helps pets live healthier, happier lives. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys fishing, scuba diving, spending time outdoors, and being active in his church.
Dr. David Imke
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Imke grew up on a farm in Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He brings 28 years of experience in mixed animal practice, including owning his own clinic for 26 years.
Now in North Georgia to be closer to family, he enjoys shooting sports, fishing, golf, and spending time with his wife, Shalise, along with their dogs, horses, and chickens.
Dr. Kristen Parker
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Parker graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She moved to Ellijay shortly after graduating and has been practicing veterinary medicine in North Georgia ever since. She started practicing at Appalachian Animal Hospital in Ellijay immediately upon graduating. Dr.Parker also worked part-time at North Georgia Animal Emergency Hospital (now Mountain Emergency Animal Hospital) for several years. Dr. Parker provided relief veterinary service for Wayside Animal Hospital for a couple of years and officially joined the team in August 2010. She has a special interest in surgery with extensive training in wound repairs, orthopedic surgery, and dentistry, and she is one of the only veterinarians to perform TTA Surgeries in North Georgia. She loves learning new hands-on techniques so she can offer more surgical options to patients. In her spare time, Dr.Parker enjoys reading, crafts, spending time with her husband and son traveling. She especially enjoys traveling if she gets the chance to see some cool animals. Dr.Parker shares her home with her two cats, Boyd and Pickles, and her dog Maverick.
Dr. DJ Skrobot
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Skrobot grew up in North Carolina and earned her Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences before completing her DVM at the University of Georgia in 2012. She is a member of the AVMA and GVMA. She resides in Canton with her husband, two daughters, a dog named Bowie, and a cat named Teddy. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and outdoor adventures.
Dr. Stacy Church
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Church was born and raised in historic Roswell, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, where she enjoyed the mountains and her love of skiing. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2017 (Go dawgs!). Following graduation, Dr. Church began her career at a small,mixed-animal practice in Elkins, West Virginia. She later transitioned into emergency and urgent care medicine at a large, multi-doctor practice in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she worked alongside more than 20 veterinarians. There, she became a leader within the emergency department and found a true passion for fast-paced, critical care medicine. In 2023, Dr. Church returned to Georgia to be closer to her family and joined Wayside Animal Hospital.
Dr. Church feels incredibly fortunate to love what she does and values building meaningful relationships with her clients and their pets. She has a special passion for senior pet care and emergency medicine, and she takes pride in helping pet owners better understand their pets’ conditions and care plans. Making complex medical information clear and approachable is one of her greatest strengths.
Family is at the center of Dr. Church’s life. She and her husband recently welcomed their baby boy and are loving every moment of this new chapter together. In her spare time, she enjoys being on the lake, jet skiing, traveling, and spending time with family. She shares her home with three dogs: Puggy, Betty, and Hogan, and their mischievous cat, Mushu. Dr. Church looks forward to continuing to serve the Jasper community and surrounding areas, providing compassionate, high-quality care to pets and the people who love them.
Dr. Liz
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Elizabeth Leduc is originally from Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Berry College in 2011. Dr. Leduc then received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. After graduation, Dr. Leduc practiced small animal medicine at a large full-service small animal hospital in the Chattanooga area. She has a special interest in internal medicine and preventative care, and also enjoys improving the quality of life of her geriatric patients. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Leduc enjoys horseback riding, hiking with her dog Roux, and is a member of a local CrossFit gym. Dr. Liz is Bilingual in French and English, and has advanced skills with the Spanish language. Your pets will love Dr. Liz and her big smile!
Keisha Duncan
Hospital Manager
Keisha has been with Wayside Animal Hospital since 2005. She began her career as a veterinary assistant and, through dedication and a strong work ethic, worked her way into her current role as a Hospital Manager at our Jasper location. Keisha has always had a natural passion for helping animals, and her compassion shines through in everything she does. As Hospital Manager, Keisha helps ensure smooth daily operations, supports both clients and staff, and advocates for the well-being of every patient. She has a special love for mixed-breed dogs, believing “mutts” offer the truest unconditional love. Outside of work, Keisha enjoys relaxing on her porch, attending her daughters’ events, practicing self-care, and embracing quiet moments. She and her husband, Michael (married since 2009), have twin girls and share their home with Sunshine, their dog, along with five beloved rescue cats: Kit-Tin, Morrison, Shadow, Bonus, and Toots. Every cat she has adopted came into her life through Wayside Animal Hospital.
Rebecca Combs
Receptionist
Rebecca joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2013, beginning her career in the veterinary field. From day one, she discovered a true passion for helping clients and their pets, and she plans to continue growing her career in veterinary medicine as a dedicated receptionist. Her warm demeanor and attention to detail make her a welcoming presence at the front desk. As a receptionist, Rebecca is often one of the first faces clients see. She enjoys helping ensure each client and patient has a smooth, positive visit. She is also the voice of Wayside when you call us and listen to our automated message! Her commitment to customer service and her love for animals shine through in everything she does. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys going to conventions, visiting the firing range, reading, and practicing with her bow. She and her husband love all things spooky, so much so that they chose to get married on Halloween. Together, they have two children they love creating fun memories with. At home, she cares for two pets: Layla, a Feist mix, and Lucy-Fur, her playful tuxedo cat.
Pam Whitsell
Receptionist
Pam joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024, bringing with her previous experience from another veterinary clinic. After taking a break from the veterinary field, she is grateful to once again work with animals and be part of a team that shares her passion. As one of the first friendly faces clients meet, Pam absolutely shines in her role as a greeter. She welcomes everyone with a warm smile and loves on every pet that walks through the door. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine love for animals make her an essential part of the front-desk team. When she isn’t at work, Pam enjoys gardening, walking, riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors, soaking in nature. She is also a proud grandmother to twin grandchildren, who are the highlight of her life.

Delaine joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2025 and brings a strong background in animal care, having managed a pet hotel for several years and volunteered extensively with local shelters. Her experience has given her a deep understanding of both pets and the people who love them, making her a warm and welcoming presence at our front desk. As a receptionist, Delanie enjoys being one of the first friendly faces clients see. She ensures every visit starts smoothly and loves helping pet owners feel supported from the moment they walk through the door. In her free time, Delaine loves sipping coffee on her front porch while watching birds gather at her feeders. She also enjoys taking long scenic drives and spending quality time with her three children. Her home is shared with Beatrice, her three-legged foster fail kitten.

Emily joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2023, starting her career in veterinary medicine just before graduating high school. This is her first job in the veterinary field, and she has learned and grown tremendously in both her assistant and reception roles. Whether she’s assisting in the treatment area or helping clients at the front, Emily brings enthusiasm, compassion, and a genuine desire to help. She is passionate about supporting both pets and their owners, and she works hard to ensure every patient receives thoughtful, gentle care. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her friends and her dog, Oakley, a sweet dachshund.

What started as a new opportunity quickly became a passion, fueled by her lifelong love for animals and her desire to make a positive impact on their health and well-being. As a veterinary assistant, Mia brings confidence, empathy, and a strong work ethic to every patient she helps care for. When she’s not working, Mia enjoys horseback riding, photography, and spending time with her many beloved pets. Her home and farm are full of life with three dogs — Maggie (Lab), Bailey (Lab mix), and Howie (Corgi); seven barn cats — Rambo, Ozzy, Loki, Ash, Nacho, Diva, and Haze; her horses Jager (Dutch Warmblood) and Blink (Thoroughbred); her donkey Merle; and her Nigerian Dwarf goats, Leia and Reba.
Brianna Douglas
Veterinary Assistant
Brianna joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024 and brings eight years of veterinary experience to the team. Her lifelong love of animals, paired with a strong interest in science, naturally led her into the veterinary field, where she continues to grow her skills and passion. As a veterinary assistant, Brianna loves being part of a career that allows her to learn something new every day while helping pets feel their best. Even though she doesn’t currently have any pets of her own, she treats every patient that walks through the door with the same care and affection as if they were hers. Outside of work, Brianna enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves playing pickleball. She is also currently in nursing school, driven by her desire to help others, both animals and people.
Natalie Dever
Veterinary Assistant
Natalie joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2024, beginning as a receptionist before transitioning into her current role as a veterinary assistant. With three years of veterinary experience, she has built a career around a lifelong love for animals and a commitment to helping them live healthier, happier lives. Natalie brings strong clinical skills, compassion, and a calm, supportive presence to every patient she cares for. She is also deeply involved in animal rescue and regularly fosters pets in need. When she’s not at work, Natalie enjoys taking her dogs on hikes or spending time with them at the lake. She shares her home with a full furry family: two dogs, Bogey (a pitbull) and Lewis (a border collie mix), and three cats, Donatello, Buffy, and Russell.
Taylor Sellers
Veterinary Assistant
Taylor joined Wayside Animal Hospital in 2025 and brings four years of diverse veterinary experience. She has worked in both private and corporate practice, as well as in general and emergency medicine, giving her a broad skill set and strong adaptability in fast-paced clinical environments. As a veterinary assistant, Taylor is dedicated to providing attentive, compassionate care to every patient. Her wide range of experience allows her to support the team wherever she’s needed, and she enjoys being part of a field where there is always something new to learn. When she isn’t working at Wayside, Taylor enjoys relaxing with a good book and stays busy with her second job serving at a local restaurant. She shares her home with three beloved pets: Rocky, her doodle; Tommy, her cat; and Otis, her three-legged orange cat.
April Chapman
Veterinary Assistant
April has been part of Wayside Animal Hospital on and off for four years and most recently rejoined the team in 2025. She began her veterinary career in 2016, inspired by Dr.Lewis, who sparked her interest in the field after showing her the crystals from her blocked cat under the microscope. A moment she never forgot. With years of hands-on experience, April brings compassion, curiosity, and a steady presence to our patient care team. She loves being part of a field where every day offers the chance to help animals feel better and support the people who love them. In her free time, April enjoys relaxing with her family and pets and unwinding with her favorite TV shows. Her furry family includes Colt, her mixed-breed dog, and two cats: Duke, a sleek black domestic shorthair, and Punkin, her spirited Devon Rex.

Dr. Alexandra Villa
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Villa was born and raised in Miami, FL, and completed both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at the University of Florida. She has worked in general practice and emergency medicine before joining Wayside.
Her interests include preventive care, client education, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Outside the hospital, she enjoys hiking, visiting local vineyards, and spending time with her family.
